The Challenge
The brand and website needed to stand out from the rigid, serious agency brands. The website also needed to showcase the unique web design and development capabilities to show authors and creators what Warlocks could do for their own work.
Our Approach
Since the target audience was authors of fantasy themed books, a playful sci-fi theme was created using a design that immersed visitors into a visually appealing website with hover effects and CSS animations. Going in the opposite direction of other agencies, the brand style, tone, and messaging used creative references to spells and other fantasy themed verbiage. Lottie animations and CSS tricks were used for animating characters and elements on the home page, without the use of any bulky video files.
The Results
This website and self-promotion campaign took home a Best of Show – Overall award at the Daytona Beach AAF’s American Advertising Awards competition. It also received a Judge’s Choice award, Best of Interactive, and a Gold ADDY.
